## Kawasaki KZ500/KZ550/ZX550 Motorcycle

The Kawasaki KZ500, KZ550, and ZX550 motorcycles were a series of inline-four cylinder motorcycles produced by Kawasaki from 1979 to 1986. They were part of Kawasaki's KZ series of motorcycles, which also included the KZ650, KZ750, KZ900, and KZ1000.

The KZ500 was introduced in 1979 as a replacement for the KZ400. It had a 498 cc (30.4 cu in) engine, a five-speed transmission, and a shaft drive. The KZ550 was introduced in 1980 as a more powerful version of the KZ500. It had a 544 cc (33.2 cu in) engine, a six-speed transmission, and a chain drive. The ZX550 was introduced in 1982 as a sportier version of the KZ550. It had a more aggressive riding position, a bikini fairing, and a four-into-one exhaust system.
