1988 Ducati 907 I.E.

Ducati made three major changes to the Paso in 1988. For one, the bevel-drive camshafts were replaced by a toothed belt cam drive, the Desmodromic valve actuation was replaced by a self-adjusting hydraulic system, and the engine received electronic fuel injection.

The engine changes provided smoother power delivery, reduced maintenance and simplified servicing. However, the performance was slightly reduced, with horsepower dropping from 82 to 78 bhp at 8,000 rpm, although torque remained the same at 62 ft-lb at 6,000 rpm.

The bike's appearance also changed slightly in 1988, with the most notable addition being the new single-sided swingarm. This design not only improved the bike's looks but also made it easier to remove the rear wheel.

In addition to the changes made in 1988, the Paso also received a number of minor updates throughout its production run. For example, the front suspension was upgraded to 41mm forks in 1990, and the rear suspension received a new monoshock in 1992.

Despite the changes made over the years, the Paso remained a relatively low-volume seller. However, it is still considered a unique and desirable motorcycle by many enthusiasts.
