The Scudo was offered with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, and a four-speed automatic gearbox was available as an option. The van had a payload of up to 1,000 kg (2,200 lb), and a towing capacity of up to 1,500 kg (3,300 lb).
The Scudo was a popular choice for commercial customers, and was used by a variety of businesses, including courier companies, delivery services, and construction companies. It was also a popular choice for families, as it offered a spacious interior and a comfortable ride.
The Scudo was discontinued in 2006, and was replaced by the Fiat Scudo (2nd gen). The second-generation Scudo was a larger van, and was based on the platform of the Fiat Ducato.
