2005 Dodge Magnum

Built on the LX platform, a rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive counterpart to Chrysler's LH platform underpinning the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger, the Dodge Magnum was a five-door station wagon manufactured and marketed by Dodge from the 2005 to 2008 model years.

After the 2004 model year, Dodge discontinued the mid-size Intrepid sedan and station wagon, replacing them with the full-size Magnum. Outside North America, the Magnum was sold as a Chrysler as the 300 Touring in Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa, and as the 300C Touring in Australia.

The Magnum took its design cues from the Chrysler Airflite concept car (specifically the Chrysler Airflite Hemi C concept of 2002) and featured bold styling, with a large crosshair grille, swept-back headlights, a low roofline, and a steeply raked rear window. The Magnum was available in three trim levels: SE, SXT, and SRT-8.

The SE was the base trim level and came standard with a 2.7L V6 engine, a four-speed automatic transmission, and 17-inch steel wheels. The SXT was the mid-level trim level and came standard with a 3.5L V6 engine, a five-speed automatic transmission, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The SRT-8 was the top-of-the-line trim level and came standard with a 6.1L Hemi V8 engine, a five-speed automatic transmission, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

All Magnums came standard with a full range of safety features, including dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, and anti-lock brakes. The Magnum also received high marks for its crashworthiness, earning a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a "Good" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The Magnum was a popular choice for families and enthusiasts alike, offering a unique combination of style, performance, and practicality. It was discontinued after the 2008 model year, but it remains a popular choice for used car buyers.
