Exterior
The Holden Torana Sunbird UC was a compact coupe that was produced by Holden from 1976 to 1979. It was the third and final generation of the Torana, and was based on the LH Holden Commodore platform. The Sunbird UC was available in two trim levels: SL and SL/R. The SL was the base model, and came with a 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine. The SL/R was the performance model, and came with a 3.3-liter V8 engine.
Interior
The interior of the Holden Torana Sunbird UC was simple and functional. The dashboard was made of black plastic, and featured a large speedometer and tachometer. The seats were upholstered in vinyl or cloth, and were comfortable for long journeys. The rear seat was spacious enough for two adults, and could be folded down to increase cargo space.
Engine
The Holden Torana Sunbird UC was available with two engine options: a 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.3-liter V8 engine. The 1.9-liter engine produced 97 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque. The 3.3-liter V8 engine produced 150 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
Performance
The Holden Torana Sunbird UC was a capable performer. The 1.9-liter engine provided adequate power for everyday driving, and the 3.3-liter V8 engine provided plenty of power for spirited driving. The Sunbird UC handled well, and was a pleasure to drive on winding roads.
Safety
The Holden Torana Sunbird UC was not equipped with any safety features. However, it was built to a high standard of quality, and was a safe car for its time.
