The Burman Motorcycles were a series of British motorcycles manufactured by the Burman & Sons company of Birmingham, England. Burman & Sons are best known for the Burman gearbox – a type of motorcycle gearbox that became popular during the 1920s and 1930s.

The Burman Q-Type Motorcycle was first produced in 1909 and was powered by a 292 cc (17.8 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The Q-Type was a popular choice for racing and was used by many successful racers, including TT winner Charlie Collier.

In 1912, Burman & Sons introduced the M-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 344 cc (21.0 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The M-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the Q-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1924, Burman & Sons introduced the SM-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The SM-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the M-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1926, Burman & Sons introduced the ME-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 679 cc (41.4 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The ME-Type was the most powerful motorcycle produced by Burman & Sons and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1928, Burman & Sons introduced the E-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The E-Type was a more economical motorcycle than the SM-Type and was used for both commuting and touring.

In 1930, Burman & Sons introduced the L-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The L-Type was a more luxurious motorcycle than the E-Type and was used for both touring and commuting.

In 1932, Burman & Sons introduced the SE-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The SE-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the E-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1934, Burman & Sons introduced the SL-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The SL-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the SE-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1936, Burman & Sons introduced the R-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The R-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the SL-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1938, Burman & Sons introduced the W-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The W-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the R-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

In 1940, Burman & Sons introduced the T-Type Motorcycle which was powered by a 499 cc (30.5 cu in) single-cylinder engine. The T-Type was a more powerful motorcycle than the W-Type and was used for both racing and touring.

Burman Motorcycles were popular for their reliability, performance, and handling. They were used by many successful racers and were also popular with private owners. Burman Motorcycles were produced until the early 1950s when the company was taken over by Norton.
