The Volvo 400 Series, a compact executive car range, debuted in 1995 with the S40 sedan, followed by the V40 station wagon in 1996 and the C40 hatchback in 2006. These models were renowned for their combination of safety, comfort, and performance. Built on Volvo's P1 platform, the 400 Series featured advanced safety features such as side airbags, whiplash protection system, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The vehicles were also equipped with comfortable interiors, spacious cabins, and a range of powerful yet fuel-efficient engines.

The Volvo 400 Series underwent significant updates over the years. In 2000, the S40 and V40 received a facelift with revised front and rear styling, along with upgraded interiors. The C40 was introduced in 2006, offering a sporty and practical alternative to the sedan and wagon models. The entire 400 Series lineup was discontinued in 2012, being replaced by the Volvo V40 Cross Country. Despite their discontinuation, the Volvo 400 Series remains popular among enthusiasts for its timeless design, safety innovations, and well-rounded performance.
