Overview



The Renault 19 is a compact family car that was produced by French automaker Renault from 1988 to 2000. It was the successor to the Renault 9/11 and was replaced by the Renault Mégane in 1996. The 19 was available in three- and five-door hatchback, four-door sedan, and five-door estate body styles. It was powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines, and was offered in a variety of trim levels.

Design



The Renault 19 was designed by Marcello Gandini of Bertone. It featured a sleek and aerodynamic design, with a sloping roofline and a pronounced wedge shape. The car's front end was dominated by a large grille, flanked by angular headlights. The rear of the car featured a steeply raked tailgate and wraparound taillights.

Interior
