1978 Ferrari 208 & 308
Overview
The 1978 Ferrari 208 and 308 were two-seat, mid-engine sports cars produced by Ferrari from 1975 to 1985. The 208 was powered by a 2.0-liter V8 engine, while the 308 was powered by a 3.0-liter V8 engine. Both cars were available in a variety of body styles, including a coupe, a targa, and a convertible.
Design
The 208 and 308 were designed by Pininfarina and were based on the same platform as the Ferrari Dino 246. The cars featured a sleek, aerodynamic design with a long hood and a short tail. The 208 and 308 were also equipped with a number of advanced features for the time, including power windows, air conditioning, and a leather interior.
Performance
The 208 was powered by a 2.0-liter V8 engine that produced 155 horsepower. The 308 was powered by a 3.0-liter V8 engine that produced 255 horsepower. Handling
The 208 and 308 were both known for their excellent handling. The cars were equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a limited-slip differential. The 208 and 308 also had a very low center of gravity, which gave them excellent stability and cornering ability.
Legacy
The 208 and 308 were both very successful cars for Ferrari. The 208 was the best-selling Ferrari of its time, and the 308 was one of the most popular Ferraris of all time. Both cars are still highly sought-after by collectors today.
